THIS SATURDAY (Sept. 23, 2023) from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Sharpsburg Community-Wide Yard & Sidewalk Sale is back for another year of fun with neighbors, exploring our town, getting rid of clutter, and (of course) finding some of the best deals ever.
EVERYONE is welcome to set up in front of their home, and folks are encouraged to put up eye-catching decorations that day.
You can also register by calling Brittany at 412-407-7661 (leave a message if you go to voicemail!)
Maps will be posted online before the event starts, and paper copies will be available that day at the 13th and Middle St. sales organized by the volunteers at The Granada!
Sponsored by Sharpsburg Neighborhood Organization. Please direct questions to SNO.
We are so glad that you all enjoyed the sprinkler at 16th Street Park for another season. It’s so great to see people enjoying our fabulous park facilities. Now is your chance to get in one last run through the water sprinkler before it closes on Friday, September 22.
A kayak was found at James Sharp Landing. We think that it came over the dam because it was found in the river. If you lost a kayak, please contact the borough at 412-781-0546 and provide some details about the kayak and we can release it to you.
Remains are confirmed to be Indigenous and were found in previously undisturbed ground. Gas crews digging had to go down just slightly further to fit in a part and that’s when they found the remains. They had not been disturbed by previous work.
We hope to learn more about this discovery and about the Indigenous history of Sharpsburg. The Historical Commission had already planned to bring Indigenous representatives to town this fall, so keep an eye on this page and the newspaper for more details.
